How to Overcome this problem: Establishing Community Drying Centres

How to Overcome this problem: Establishing Community Drying Centres

In order to over come this problem it is necessary to have mechanical dryers to dry the grains in speedy way to required moisture level with out effecting its quality. The mechanical drying to the correct level of moisture will improve the quality and value addition to the product.

Though our country is the largest in the production of agriculture produce, we are not in the postion to export them to international market as our agricultural produce is not meeting international standards.

By setting up efficient Post Harvesting Equipments and by dispensing our traditional Post Harvesting Practices we can improve the quality to our agriculture Produce and compete in the international market.

There are a few companies have developed mechanical dryers in the world like Peekay-Suncue who developed the dryers:

1) Ventilating Grain Dryer

2) Circulating Grain Dryer

Establishing Community Grain Drying Centres: The problem

Establishing Community Grain Drying Centres: The problem
The major problem being faced bu farmers growing paddy, maize, chillies, groundnut etc, is that they do not have proper drying facilities. Specially after harvesting Khariff crop. Traders, millers and procuring agencies raising about the moisture content level and dust in grains are exploiting majority of the farmers.

The conventional way of drying the grains is a time consuming process and disadvantages area:-
1)No control on moisture percentage
2) It is difficult to get the grain to the correct level of moisture
3) quality degradation
4) Dust accumulation
5) Un-seasonal rains may interrupt even the natural driving process in fields
6) Larger floor space is required for natural drying
7) Preperation of floor space for drying is costly
8) Expenses for floor preparation is recirring for each crop season.

Very recently the paddy and maize growing farmers have experienced the problem raised by certain procuring agencies and millers about high percentage of moisture and dust level.

In general farmers were deprived of the benefit of getting minimum support price declared / fixed by government.

Use Peekay-Suncue Grain Dryers to overcome this problem.

Grain Dryer : Need In India

The ventilating Seed Dryer is a batch type Dryer, which is suitable for efficient drying. A high Volume of air with relatively Low Temperature batch type dryer dries uniformly without affecting the quality of the products. It is fitted with high performance burner to achieve the complete carbon free combustion.

The Ventilating Seed Dryer is user friendly and its one touch operating button helps people with little knowledge of machinery to operate easily. Its fully automatic multiple monitoring system, which requires low power and fuel also provides highest safety. The capacity of dryer varies from 2 tons to 10 tons .

The basic principle used by the dryer is to expose kernels to the low temperature with high volume air to dry evenly and uniformly without disturbing physical properties.

Our dryer can hold 1000kg without any partition or bays to let hot air travel through loaded mass to absorb moisture from grains continuously to dry uniformly.

ADVANTAGES OF RECIRCULATING BATCH TYPE DRYERS

Uniform dried grain

Satisfactory moisture content can be easily controlled

Easy operation and less Supervision

Higher Drying rate

Make Grain drying a pleasant job

Reduce percentage of broken rice

No need to worry about drying problems during wet weather assist millers & processors enjoy substantial profit.

Mechanically dried grain can be stored longer, because it has dried evenly, ensures delicious taste of grain.

Better control of grain quality need of labor is minimized, bringing added profit.

The process of drying grain is much simplified

Dry the Grain at an optimal level there by create a good storage environment

Does not require much land space unlike in conventional drying
